Privacy Policy

How Recycly Electrical collects, uses, and protects information from sellers, repair shops, and trade partners. Plain English version, no fine-print games.

01Information we collect

When you request a quote or sell to us, we collect:

  • Contact information (name, email, phone)
  • Business information for trade sellers (business name, ABN if provided)
  • Pickup or drop-off address details
  • Device information you submit (model numbers, quantity, condition, photos)
  • Banking details strictly for paying you (BSB and account number)
  • Standard server logs and basic device info when you visit the site

02How we use your data

Your information is used only to:

  • Quote, inspect, receive, and pay for the screens you sell us
  • Arrange free onsite pickup or coordinate drop-off
  • Communicate about a specific quote or transaction
  • Comply with Australian record-keeping and tax obligations
  • Detect fraud and protect both parties from misrepresented stock

We don’t profile you, sell your data, or use your information for advertising.

03Sharing & third parties

We don’t sell or rent personal information. We share data only with:

  • Our bank, to pay you
  • Couriers we engage to pick up stock from you
  • Our accountant and the Australian Taxation Office where required by law

04Retention

Transaction records are kept for at least seven years to comply with Australian tax law. Photos of devices are kept for the duration of the transaction plus a reasonable dispute window. Quote-only enquiries that don’t proceed are deleted after twelve months.

05Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 you can request access to your personal information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we’re not legally required to keep it. Email [email protected] with the request and we’ll respond within 30 days.

06Security

Banking details are stored only long enough to pay you, then archived in encrypted form.

The site uses HTTPS, accounts are protected by passwords you choose, and access to seller records is limited to staff who need it. No system is unbreakable, so report anything suspicious straight to us.

07Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page when our practices change and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will also be flagged on the home page for at least 14 days.
